How To Make It In America

That theme song, “I Need a Dollar” by Aloe Blacc has got to be one of the catchiest song’s I’ve ever heard, and continues to be one of my absolute favorite aspects of the show.

Let me just say, this is the new show to watch. After Entourage ended there was a short period of grieving, but now ‘How to Make it in America’ has filled the void.

Based on two young men, one Dominican one Jewish, both born and raised in Brooklyn, the story follows these two on their attempts to succeed in a world determined to keep them down. Although not the most incredible acting, the plot alone is enough to captivate anyone’s attention.

The sex, drugs, and epic lifestyles that the characters in the series experience are riveting and inspiring. The do-it-yourself, come-up-from-nothing mentality of the pair make you want for them to succeed, but inevitably there is some issue along the way. Thank you Hollywood.

And finally, the guest starring of Kid Cudi complete this show for what it is: a perfect portrayal of todays most intriguing alternative lifestyle. He plays the part perfectly, looking exactly how we all wish we could go to New York City and live off odd jobs pulled off with friends, all while looking like a movie star.
